From post apocalypse cities, to deserts, swamps, jungles, the enviroments are very good. Lip sync in the game is not perfect but the voice acting is very good. With the randomized campaign system as soon as you finish yout first run, u will start another one, because its going to be a diferente experience, diferente bosses, diferent secrets. From the amount of secrets, 3 leve dificulties, if a player wants to see everything i think he needs to play the game at least 3 times, each time being diferent then the previous one. For its price tag this can easily become a 300hrs of content game. ive had a amazing experience both Solo and Coop so far, coop is harder but is very worth it because the rewards a insenely better. If u like souls-like game and want a change of pace, get this game.

Même si on peut aussi s'emmerder en solo dans ce truc, histoire (avantage non négligeable) de se rendre compte vite fait de l'étendue des dégâts...Et les dégâts sont nombreux et irréparables... on ne peut même plus les contrôler (les dégâts) tellement il y en a... car ce jeu est un navet, un gros navet ! tout y est en effet très médiocre, les combats, les animations, l'espèce d'histoire (lol), les dialogues imbéciles, l'univers éculé et suranné qui mélange fantasy bas de gamme et sf de supermarché (en solde)...La maniabilité est elle aussi médiocre, pas de parade, pas de contre ni d'esquive (seulement des roulades...) des armes sans relief, des sensations inexistantes... et pas de sauvegarde ? Graphiquement, c'est également très quelconque et tout cela, la somme de tout cela n'est que pur ennui à des doses très inquiétantes : le meilleur moment du jeu reste sans conteste la désinstallation !

It has a crazy amount of content for only 40$ with no micro transactions in sight. It has a dark souls feel to it what with the check point system and respawning enemies, but calling it a souls like feels like under selling what it is. It’s truly unique with the ability to Reroll your world layout and have new bosses, side stories, weapons, and maps. Not to mention how much FUN the combat is. This is how replay-ability should be done and it’s just a really addicting and great time. We need more support for studios like this.

I have spent nigh-on 20 hours with the game, and my goodness, I cant wait to get back into it. There are a few small niggles, but the mix of difficulty with easy replayability and easy access makes this game worth trying out for anyone that enjoys some fun and a challenge.

Remnant: From the Ashes is more than just a Dark Souls clone or a simple third-person shooter. It’s the lovechild of the many games, mixed with aspects of Gears of War, Fallout, The Division, and its own brand of weird. The number of games I’ve kept playing after my time with it for a review can probably be counted on two hands, and I’m happy that Remnant is going to be joining their ranks. Despite a shallow store, some repetitive environments, and a few occasionally frustrating glitches, this is a game well worth your time.

This is indeed a hidden jewel of 2019, once you start playing you keep getting surprised. I was amazed by how smooth and satisfying is the combat. I was even more amazed by the boss fights. This game has remarkably amazing fights, beautiful movements. I really hope the studio brings a sequel because they deserve it.

It's a big surprise inside a tiny package that gets the best idea of games like Resident Evil and Dark Souls and mix it up with expertise with a coat of AA game paint.

Remnant: From the Ashes is, in all honesty, a breath of fresh air. A solid and alluring co-op action RPG with a good lot of innovations. Don’t call it a “souls-like with guns”, it’s much more than that.

Remnant: From the Ashes lies somewhere in between Dark Souls and your typical randomized rogue-like. It features an intense co-op PvE combat formula, mixed with a beautifully crafted world and a smart understanding of the RPG features. As a result, it will give you a nearly infinite amount of satisfactory playthroughs.

As a fan of these kinds of games, I can say that Remnant: From the Ashes is a type of soulslike that I would have probably passed over in favor of something more traditional, but after giving it a fair shot I’m glad to say that it’s the successful spin on the genre that I didn’t know I wanted.

The games overall aesthetic is amazing, with rich detailed environments, and a soundtrack that holds you in the feeling. Remnant holds true to it's design concept of Dark Souls focused heavily on ranged combat. It's tough, enjoyably so, but tough, with randomly designated spawns, and random extra spawning designated as you progress. The game is wholly unpredictable, granting an new challenge around every corner or randomly cranking the fight up to 11 with a new wave of monsters in an already heated battle! The combat system is fantastically designed meticulous combat, with a near seamless ability to switch weapons or dodge, as your fighting off waves of tiny nuisances or towering abominations. The only place where the game seem to be lacking is in the story's drive and depth, but it accomplishes what it needs to. If you enjoy the feel of heavy precise combat, in an unforgiving setting, and nearly endless replay value from its randomized worlds and progression, then Remnant: From the Ashes is the game for you!

There´s no penalty for dying, just return to the last check point, but they are far (usually at the start of each dungeon) and you will need to fight again every enemy, but the experiences and resources gathered can be used to upgrade your weapons and itens so the next round should be a little easier.Two friends can join the party and every item collected goes to everyone, so play together is a must, as it´s make the game less punshing as you can revive or be revived by your friends, surround bigger enemies our deal with an horde of teeths with 3 simultaneous shots instead of one.Remnant is fair fun, a little bit hard alone, but rejoicefull nevertheless. Is a pleasant surprise to the middle year catalog. It may take around 18 hours to complete the first playtrought, but every new game changes all maps, so you´ll never feel playing the same scenario.

On the other hand, in cooperative, the game makes sense. A spectacular soundtrack and innovative design make this game -along with its devilish difficulty- a title to be taken into account. Too bad it has quite a few bugs and its gameplay isn't very smooth.

My time with Remnant was a total roller-coaster. There were moments of pure, unfiltered rage, peaks of elation, ah-ha moments, and quiet zen grinds. For the most part though, it's just a steady climb. The developers are not shy about how hard this game is. If that's your cup of tea, perfect! Every victory will be hard-fought, bloody, and beautiful once behind you. I just couldn't shake the small, nagging sense that my few successes weren't earned. I just got lucky, squeaking through the cracks. More than this minor unease, my playtime was marked by anger, by exasperated breaths and whitened knuckles. I ended up having more fun than I expected to, but that shiny nugget of suffering remains. Heed my wary words and proceed at your peril. If a tough time is your aim, then Remnant: From the Ashes is absolutely your game.

Remnant is a cool co-cop TPS experience that is difficult for newcommers but really immersive, while offering great bossfights and an adaptative skill-system.

Presentation and polish aren't its strong suit, but Remnant: From the Ashes features gripping third-person gunplay and simple but satisfying progression that enable enticing entertainment regardless of whether you're playing cooperatively or solo. The visceral variety and delightful design of the environments and enemies elevate Remnant above other Dark Souls doppelgangers.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a brilliant game that will undoubtedly satisfy the masochistic urges of all those Souls-Like (really can't apologise enough) fanatics out there that need their next fix of brutal punishment in the form of a video game. The game is let down by a few minor faults and won't provide the same amount of gameplay that the majority of Souls games deliver to players, but the positives of this game far outweigh its negatives and the ability to replay it and take it on with friends negate the admittedly short standard campaign time.

In the first hour or so the game is completly linear and throws the same enemys at you, over and over again. However ... after about 2 hours the game starts to get way more open and you will find yourself on Darksiders like maps. Linear but not completly narrow.There are a lot of different enemys and you can protect yourself angainst them with help of the most detailed stat system I have seen in quiet some time. Everything you upgrade or modify, changes the stats of your equipment.The story so far looks really interesting and way less complicated than the Dark Souls storyline. I wont spoiler anything here tho. The characters and bosses are not boring npcs and u can tell that some time and work had been put into them.In terms of actual gunplay the game feels good and you can choose between various weapon types. The game rewards you for exploring and you can try out different builds.What I dont like or what i dont understand is, why exactly does the main character have a voice if he never talks except for some grunts here and there. You can select different dialog options but there is no voice what so ever.From a technical standpoint it seems like the game has some issues in some areas because Im running a 1080 Ti on 1080p and the game drops to 70-80 frames because of low gpu usage. That is rarely the case but i feel like i have to mention that. Most of the time it runs smooth as butter. In terms of graphics, the game is not on a next level or anything but the graphics are nice and appropriate for what it is. I couldnt test the coop tho.So in conclusion: I think this game is a better game for 40 bucks than the last 10 games i played at 60. I dont think they had a huge budget and what they did with that is pretty awesome. If you are looking for a Dark Souls like game with shooter elements ... this is it and i can recommend it. It is a solid shooter with RPG elements and I cant wait to finish it.EDIT: So i finished the game and i just need to take the rating from 8 to 7 or even lower. All the story and characters they build up are completly irrelevant due to the short ending. You think there is so much more coming but no ... theres your endboss and there are your credits. The NPC dont say anything and basically nothing happens after the enboss. What a shame

I played one playthrough, and I'll keep it there. The game needed a lot more polish and a lot less questionable decisions.
